Theme nights are always a popular choice simply because when you dress up in retro gear the fun starts before you arrive. There are hire/costume shops in most large towns and online that stock 60's and 70's gear because it's so popular. If you don't want to hire then a wig and a flashy top is all you need to get you in the mood.
You can also organise prizes for the best dressed dude.

Surprise 40ths and 50ths always go a storm but make sure you have a way letting us know when the birthday girl/boy is arriving. Throughout the night number ones on special dates are thrown in ie. 'Did you know that on your 18th birthday Donny Osmond was at number one with this one.......Puppy Love'.

Club Party Nights are always enhanced when you include the occasional music quiz. Nothing as simple as questions:
Bits and Pieces where a series of 5 song snippets are play and you have to write
down the Artist and titles.
Write down the Artist and title of a song played backwards.
Write down the Artists and Titles of 3 songs played at the same time.
If more than one person gets them all then either a tie break or first name pulled out of the hat wins.
You can have these as three separate prizes or as a continuous game played throughout the evening.
